4th of July Tag

Hi Friends:  Today's creation is a tag to celebrate the 4th of July.

I used the 2 techniques for the June 2016 Tim Holtz tag (Tissue Wrap Collage & Stencil Plaid) with the SSS Tic Tac Toe diagonal for Spray, Stamp, Stencil.  Since I don't have all the supplies for Tim's tag, I had to improvise a bit.  The tag top was cut from Grunge Paper with the Tag & Bookplates die. Since I wanted to do a 4th of July theme, I stamped the stars from the Wendy Vecchi Celestial Art set onto plain tissue paper with Archival Jet Black ink.  I used the Vintage Tim Holtz Distress Collage Medium to attach the tissue paper to the Grunge Paper.   I sprayed blue and red colored LSG and Tattered Angels sprays to create the "fireforks" on the tag.  For the Stencil Plaid, I used the Tim Holtz Stripes Layering Stencil with Distress Inks in Candied Apple and Blueprint Sketch to create the plaid on a scrap of old t-shirt material.  I used the Merry and Bright QK die set to cut the USA letters from the tag, then glued the plaid material behind the letters.  I created the "flag" at the top by stamping the Evidence of Art stamp with Versamark ink onto red cardstock, then heat embossing with white embossing powder, and cutting into strips to fit the tag.  I backed the tag / material with another tag, then finished off with some machine stitching, edging with Black Soot Distress Ink, a few Mirrored Stars and some ribbon from my stash.  I created the flag at the top by stamping the Evidence of Art stamp with Versamark ink onto red cardstock, then heat embossing with white embossing powder.  Thanks for taking a look.  Happy 4th!

Imagine This Life Layout

Hi Friends:  Today's creation is a scrapbook layout of my daughter's wedding.

 Full Layout:

 Area Detail:

I selected some of my favorite MME papers and prepped the top layer with clear gesso.  I used embossing paste and the Teresa Collins Damask stencil to add some texture and dimension.  I got really messy and used Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays to color my doily and flowers (colors listed below).  I used the same sprays to color the background.  (As usual, the photos don't fully capture the sparkle of the LSG sprays - they are truly sparkly and lovely in person.)  I used Distress Stain to color the cotton lace.  The Blue Fern Brittania Flourish chipboard and the title letters were inked with Versamark, then heat embossed with LSG embossing powders (colors listed below).  I backed the photo with the same MME papers, then added it to the layout over the ribbons, lace, and doilies.  All other flowers, chipboard, and embellishments were added, with a bit of cheesecloth peeking through.  I finished with a bit of beads and some LSG ink splatters.  Thanks for taking a peek!  Have a super weekend!

Birthday Fox

Hi Friends:  Today's card is a quick stamped image colored with Copics and layered onto patterned paper.  I picked the papers, first, then colored the image based on the paper colors.  I stamped the image (from the Cardmaking and Papercrafts free set Oscar The Owl and Pals) with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, then colored it with the Copic markers listed below.  I die-cut the image and the background panel, then used foam squares to layer them onto MME patterned papers. I added a bit of bling to the dots on the fox using a Stardust glitter pen.  I finished the card with the sentiment and some baker's twine.  Thanks for taking a look.  Have a great day!

Father's Day Card

Hi Friends:  It's time for Father's Day cards again!  My card was created for 2 challenges - Father's Day and One Layer Cards, so it's a single layer (always a challenge for me!)  I stamped the below Stampin' Up! stamps and inks, and embossed them with a clear glitter embossing powder on Very Vanilla cardstock.  Then I applied some CM Iridescent texture paste through the Tim Holtz Dot Fades layering stencil.  I used Distress Inks to color parts of the background.  I stamped the sentiment onto a strip of cream cardstock with Versamark ink, embossed it with the clear embossing powder, then colored it with Distress Ink and stapled it to the card.  I finished it off with jute colored with Distress Stain.  Thanks for taking a peek!  Have a great day!

Beauty Is Card

Hi Friends:  Time for another card!  Today's card is a summery, garden watercolor using Art Impressions stamps.  I stamped the images using the AI stamps and the markers listed below onto watercolor paper.  Once the focal image was done, I edged the paper with Forest Moss Distress Ink, then added some yarn fibers, hemp, and baker's twine.  I glued the image to 2 panels from a MME paper pad, then distressed the panels and edged with brown chalk ink.  The sentiment was stamped on Handsome Hunter Stampin' Up paper using Versamark ink, then heat embossed with white embossing powder and attached with pop-dots.  I added some clear Wink of Stella glitter to the flowers for a little extra punch.  Thanks for taking a look!  Have a great week,

Friend Card

Hi Friends:  Today's creation is a friendship card.  I started with watercolor paper, then stamped my sentiment in the center.  I used the purple Distress Inks to stamp my images around the sentiment, using masks to create the images.  Once all of the images were stamped, I stamped the centers with Versamark ink, then embossed them with gold embossing powder.  I used a Wink of Stella clear glitter pen and Glossy Accents to highlight some of the stamped images.  While the Glossy Accents was drying, I used the Versamark and same gold embossing powder to create the gold strips behind the card panel.  I mounted the card on a purple panel, then on a white card base.  I finished it with a purple bow.  (The card is prettier in person - no matter how many photos I took, I couldn't seem to capture the true purple colors and the glimmer of the Wink of Stella pen.  Oh well - maybe I need to take a photography course!)   Thanks for taking a peek.  Have a great day!

Take Time Tag

Hi Friends:  Today's creation is a mixed media tag that was lots of fun to create!  I started with a manila tag and stenciled it with white embossing paste, using the Scribble Layering Stencil.  Once dry, I used several pink / red based sprays to color the background, doily, and ribbon. I also used a bit of Distress Stain on the ribbon.   I used the Tiny Tattered Florals die to cut my flowers, then sprayed them with a bit of gold Perfect Pearls Mist and attached them to the doily that I added to the tag.  I edged the tag and the Chit Chat stickers with Black Soot Distress Ink.  I added the stickers to the tag, then stapled some wire, with attached floral charm, around the words.  I finished the tag with the ribbon, clock charm, and some red seed beads. Just a reminder to never forget to Take Time to smell the roses!  (or the flowers of your choice - I'm actually allergic to the smell of roses, so I prefer the lilacs! LOL)  Have a great day!
