Easter Card

Hi Friends:  Easter is just around the corner, so I thought I would make an Easter card for my daughter & son-in-law.  I stamped this adorable bunny with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, then used Copic markers in various colors of pinks, greens, blue-greens, and grays, to match the background papers that I had selected.  I tried to use a kind of dotted method with the Copics on the bunny to make him look more like a textured, stuffed rabbit.  The dots in the bunny ears and in the tummy flowers are topped with Stardust glimmer and the flowers are dotted with mini clear gems.  I finished with faux-stitching around the edges of the cardstock and the frame.  The background uses Prima papers with some of my favorite edge punches & a strip of plain dark-gray ribbon.  I think they'll like the card.  Thanks for looking.  Happy Easter!

Art Journal - Counting My Lucky Stars

Hi Friends:  Yea! It's Spring!  Here's a new Art Journal page - Counting My Lucky Stars.  After using gel medium with the Cargo stencil to create a bit of resist in the background, I used various colors of Gelatos and Distress Crayons to color the background.  I added more stenciling using Glass Bead Glitter Gel.  I stamped throughout with a couple of different star stamps & used some numbered tissue tapes, too.  It looks better in person than in the pictures, and I had lots of fun with it.  I used some older dimensional star stickers with words on them that represent my "lucky star" blessings, and I added some of my own blessings words to the stamped stars - like wish, dreams, love, family.  See below for challenges & products list.  Thanks for taking a look.

Hello You Fuzzy Card

Hi Friends!  Happy Tuesday - it was beautiful here today - over 70 - I am so ready for Spring!  The current Wednesday challenge on the SSS blog is to create something Touchy-Feely, so I immediately thought of flocking.  The challenge includes the use of My Favorite Things products, too.  Today's very simple Hello You card uses a washi tape and flocking background (the white space is white flocking).  I simply ran my tape runner between the washi tape strips and added flocking to the top of the tape. The XOXO center strip and the Hello You words are also flocked - I ran them thru my Xyron to get them sticky to hold the flocking.  Additional touchy-feely elements include the stitching between the stripes and the button and jewel elements.  The XOXO and you die are from the Lots of Love die from My Favorite Things.  Thanks for taking a peek.

Wedding Mixed Media Canvas

Hi Friends:  Here is my mixed media canvas for my dad's wedding.  It will be a gift to them.  I started with a plain white 8x10 canvas.  After adding some stenciled items with texture paste, I added lots of flowers, lace, metal, grungeboard diecuts, and other stuff.  You'll see several bottle caps that were altered with paints or alcohol inks, with buttons, beads, and glitter added.  After the main pieces were added & covered with gesso, I added lots of spray inks to get the colors I wanted - the teal/turquoise colors are the colors they have in their home.  I added some little things to represent the couple - the little teapot (they love to have their tea) and the angel (representing their faith).  This project was tones of fun!  I hope they like it.  Thanks for taking a peak.

Challenge entered:
My leap included the use of the texture paste, bottle caps, & the creation of my first mixed media canvas as a gift.
