SSS Monday Challenge - Love is in the Air + Red - Evidence of Love

My dad recently remarried so, for the current Monday Challenge, I decided to create an album cover for a mini gift album with wedding pictures - seemed like the perfect match to the LOVE theme - my title is "Evidence of Love".  I used another of my favorite Prima papers as the background, and attached it to the album cover with matte medium.  Distressed and inked all of the edges.  I die-cut the label and love word from grunge board and inked it with Weathered Wood distress stain and sprayed it with Perfect Pearls glimmer spray.  The ribbon is also colored with the Weathered Wood distress stain.  I selected some of my favorite charms and accents to attach to the label - the facet dangle is inked with Bottle and Silver alcohol inks.  My touch of red (not a go to color for me) is a heart stick pin that was originally bright red.  I used Red Pepper and Silver alcohol inks to tone the color down to match the more muted shades of the cover.  Thanks for visiting. Check out the SSS products listed below.

SSS Monday Challenge - BEST FRIENDS

I was recently shopping with my good friend, Lynn, and I picked up a couple of packs of napkins and told her it was for my napkin art. She had never heard of napkin art, so for Monday's challenge, I thought I would make her a card using napkin art.  The butterfly and flowers image is from a napkin, glued onto a piece of sticky backed canvas that was painted with purple pearlescent paint and sprinkled with fine glitter. The card base uses some of my favorite Prima papers and is accented with some SSS stamps and crinkle ribbon.  The Chipped Saphire and Seedless Preserves inks didn't quite match the paint color on the napkin art, so I layered them on the stamp for a better match.  SSS supplies are listed below.  I hope she likes the card. Thanks for taking a peek.

SSS Wednesday Challenge Blog - Create With Critters - Bear Hugs

Today I created a card for the SSS Wednesday Challenge Blog - Create With Critters.  My card is Bear Hugs - Thinking of You.  Since I was sending a bear hug, I decided to go with natural colors and materials.  I couldn't find my paw prints stamp, so I printed a clip art bear paw print and made my own paper stencil.  I used Versamark ink and clear powder to emboss the stencil image onto kraft paper that was inked with Gathered Twigs distress ink.  I then watered and crumpled it to try to make it look more like old leather - it looks better in person than it does in the picture.  LOL.  The card front and sentiment are made with actual wood paper, also inked with Gathered Twigs.  The Lawn Fawn bear has an Antique Gloss Finish.  SSS supplies are listed below.  Thanks for visiting.

Anniversary Card

Here's a card made with Prima Lyric Collection papers - they are beautiful papers - perfect for a special anniversary celebration.

Mother Earth

Most of the last few months were spent on Christmas gifts - Christmas cards, a scrapbook for my brother using all the pictures of his kids that my mom had saved, and a box of greeting cards for my newly married daughter, Jenny. No pictures taken, so no posts.  ;-(   Here's my latest art journal page.  Once I finished the background colors and embossing paste texture, I decided it looked like a world map, so I went with a nature theme - Mother Earth.  Still learning, but I kind of like it.  Thanks for taking a peek.
